Are you doom scrolling again?

Oh man. I get it.

I have this memory of sitting in my living room, doom scrolling on the couch with all the lights off.

Too tired to get up and make dinner.

Too tired to get up and even turn the lights on.

So exhausted after getting home from working 2 jobs that day.

You know that feeling of your body being so tired but your brain is too busy from your work day to go to sleep yet?

That was me.

Just scrolling.

I just had this moment, where I looked up from my phone.

Looked around at the dark room.

And I remember thinking,

Is this it?

Is this what I'm going to do for the rest of my life?

Working so hard but still struggling to pay the bills? And being too tired when I get off work to enjoy my (very limited) time off?

There HAS to be more than this, I thought.

I'm a creative person.

I want to have the freedom, time, and energy to express myself!

The space to dance around my kitchen making dinner.

To be able to paint again!

To be able to start a new craft project (even if I know it's not going to be complete before I decide I want to try something else.)

I knew then, I needed to get back to my art!

And you know what?

I did.

I'm so proud to share that here I am now,

3 years into being a full time artist.

I'd be lying if I said it was an easy journey!

Lots of ups and downs and bumps in the road.

Even now, being a full time artist and business owner is hard!

It's a challenge to put yourself out there and be an artist. This world we live in isn't really set up for the artist to thrive.

But I get to do what I love. And express myself, and share my art with the world!

But I need your help.

Art isn't a one way street. Art needs to be shared with others, and enjoyed to make the biggest impact.
