It might be conversation, a beautiful flower I see on a walk, The moon and night sky, or even a season.

When I created this Guardians Of Mystery art collection I initially had fall decor in mind.

I always want my home decor to capture the warm, inviting feeling of fall, without being cliché.

But it goes beyond just the fall season.

I want it to have a touch of intrigue and mystery.

A little bit of magic to it. ♥️

I think we see a lot of that in fall decor around Halloween, but what if I want that vibe all year around?

So I decided I wanted neutrals. Black and white tones to keep it simple.

Keep it sophisticated so that I could enjoy the art in my home, even when it wasn't time for fall decorating.

I knew I wanted my pieces to have a certain vibe to them, but it wasn't until I chose the animals I wanted to feature in my paintings that I truly fell in love with this collection.

They became more than just decor pieces.

They became more than just fall art.

Each animal took on a story of its own.

Each animal is a guardian.

I hope these animals guard and protect your space, and help you decorate your home.

Guardians of Mystery

The Guardians of Mystery collection was originally inspired by my inability to find fall/Halloween decor that fit my style. My personal decor style inspired the black and white design and neutral color pallet.

Each original design was painted with a mixed media technique consisting of acrylic paint and colored pencil on a textured watercolor paper.

Each animal was chosen based on its symbolic meaning. I want the artwork in my home to speak to me and say something about me. I chose to surround myself with artwork that is not only beautiful but meaningful.

I hope that these animal guardians protect your space, speak to you, and bring the warm cozy feelings of fall into your home.

In Norse mythology, Odin is often depicted with ravens.

Protection

In some cultures and beliefs, black cats are considered protectors against negative energies and evil spirits. They are thought to ward off evil forces and bring good luck.

Wisdom

Owls are a symbol of wisdom. This association can be traced back to ancient Greece, where the owl was linked to Athena, the goddess of wisdom. Owls' large, observant eyes and their ability to see in the dark contributed to this symbolism.

Intuition

Bats are known for their keen senses, particularly their echolocation abilities. This makes them symbols of heightened intuition and the ability to navigate through the unknown with precision.

About Elizabeth

Elizabeth is an artist living in Erlanger, Kentucky. She graduated in 2012 with a B.A. in Art from Xavier University. She has illustrated 10 published children's books. Xavier University purchased one of Elizabeth's paintings, and it is currently up on display in their library.

She loves to work in a variety of styles and mediums, everything from digital work to large-scale oil paintings. She loves the freedom to be creative with her art and try all kinds of new styles and subject matters.

In her free time, Elizabeth loves going to music festivals with her boyfriend and hanging out with her three cats.
